Victorian Order of the Garter Star Desk Clip
This lovely antique desk clip is in the form of an Order of the Garter star with the Order of the Garter Motto 'Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense' engraved around the middle. We are unsure of its history, but it looks to be a Victorian piece dating from the second half of the nineteenth century. The clip is made from brass and is mounted on a wooden base finished in a red leather.
Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The leather base is scuffed and worn with some splitting to the leather in the corners. The brass clip has some wear, tarnishing and polish residue and some minor surface corrosion in places.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
