A fantastic piece of Victorian Mauchlineware.

It is a sewing box made by a church class for their teacher,
printed on the top of the box is
'To Miss Muir,
From her Sabbath school class,

As a small toke of their appreciation of
her kindness.

Mauchline, June, 1883.

We do not wish the grandeur,
Not yet a store of wealth,
We wish thee richer treasure,
Contentment, peace & health.'

Their is two pictures on the front of the box, one of 'Burns' Monument' and the second of 'Auld Brig O'Doon'.

The box is fantastic quality with a patent mark on the lock.

A Great piece of history.

It is in good condition, with minor wear and tear and a slightly warped top, but nothing too obvious, all seen n pictures.

In Great condition with what looks like the original lining, considering its age, late Victorian.
