A stunning Victorian combined inkstand and postage or letter scales dating to around 1860. There is no maker’s mark, but the quality of this item is evident. The base is made from solid Walnut, with engraved brass decoration to the top and front edge and a carved out ebonised pen tray. Both full sets of brass weights are still present along with the original inkwell. The receptacles for the weights and inkwell have been relined with a deep wine red velvet. All in excellent condition. The base is 30cm wide and 24cm deep. The height is 13cm to the top of the inkwell.
