This is a superb antique Victorian ebonised stationery box of domed form with elaborate decorative brass mounts, circa 1880 in date.

The hinged domed lid opens to reveal a dark blue silk lined interior fitted with seven compartments to accommodate letters and notes. The box has exquisite pierced brass mounts and escutcheon, and an attractively shaped brass handle.
