Very large 19thC. Inlaid Sewing Box regency georgian rosewood %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a nearly completely intact, early 19th C. circa 1820 rosewood and mother of pearl inlaid sewing casket. The lid has mother of pearl inlaid decoration in the design of squirrels and birds amongst scrolls. The box has a fitted interior with lift out tray decorated with tooled leather compartments fitted with sewing accessories including the original scissors. On the sides, the box has two ring handles and is supported on gadrooned feet.
