A glorious gilt unused compact for Max Factor Creme Puff, Rimmel Stay Matte and all standard sizes of pressed powder. This 1960s compact is also suitable for use as a handbag mirror. It is in superb condition. The whole item gleams. The images really do not do this item justice. The makers applied a layer of lacquer at the point of manufacture which means it will never tarnish nor need to be cleaned. The lid is decorated with a textured gilt pattern known as 'Bark' by some makers. Like the bark of a tree, only golden. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The powder well is protected by the original white enamel paint. The base is signed 'Stratton' MADE IN ENGLAND'. Measures 3" & weighs 94.2 grams.
