Tunbridge Ware Tea Caddy With Floral Mosaic
Victorian Tunbridge Ware Tea Caddy. C.1860
Tea caddy of good proportions and superb shape in stunning Birdseye Maple and mixed woods.
The twin compartment tea caddy is in typical Tunbridge Ware with a mosaic effect tesserae.
A stunning array of flowers and geometric forms with bands of stunning flowers and various very fine details.
Pair of brass lifting button knobs to lids. The inside of the compartments and back of lids has its original remains of foil lining with losses over the years to be expected.
Tea leaf design paper to the inside of the lid.
Overall super well maintained condition.
Fully working original lock and one key plus brown tassel for display.
Stop hinges to lid all fully functional.
C.1860's in date approx.
This caddy is attributed to the world famous Henry Hollamby / Thomas Barton made in his workshops in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. UK.
