This antique African Equestrian tribal hand forged iron oil lamp would have been used by the tribes people to illuminate ritual dancers etc,the iron has been hand beaten and hot forged to the shape of a horse with central iron column ladle cup oil burner to the top of the central column.
The horse is complete with bridals,and stirrups also has its iron tool wick holder and other cleaning tools spoons prickers etc these are attacted to the iron lamp by hanging chains.
karite oil would have been poured into the ladle cup bowl and a twisted cotton wick held in place by one of the of the specialist hanging tools,
