A magnificent large Staunton Chess set made from Boxwood and Ebony and dating to around 1890. The quality is outstanding and really tactile, the King measuring 4" tall and weighing 1.44 Troy Ounces or 44.9 Grams.

The set came to me in this old cigar box where it has clearly been protected for many years, it works perfectly well as a storage box.

Excellent condition.
