The History of Little Fanny. 1810

The History of Little Fanny (Toy Book/Doll Book) Exemplified In A Series Of Figures.
Pub by S & J Fuller at The Temple of Fancy, Rathbone Place, London. 1810
15 pages with 7 hand coloured copper engraved die-cut dolls, one interchangeable head and one fish basket for the head (one bonnet missing we believe), head fragile at neck. Printed dark grey wrappers, some edge curling, a small piece at base of the rear wrapper lost, contents handled, but not badly. Original string stitching, split at this point along seam, but not severe and not loose, doesn't need repair, just part of its general age. Small 5 x 4 inches booklet. An early example of a "Toy" book with activity for the child's imagination and development. NOTE: Fanny undergoes various stressful scenarios that make her appreciate the life she leads in a good Christian home.
The book went into many editions, up to 10 with the date 1810, so it was either extremely popular or the publishers were stretching the sales figures? All editions are equally scarce and with all doll figures & head in good condition.
