Charming little table and pair of benches by the English makers Reynolds of Ludlow c.1960. Beautiful 1½″ thick yew wood planks on octagonal section legs also in yew. Like the antique furniture of the celebrated US designer George Nakashima, Reynolds’ furniture celebrated and expressed the natural origin of the materials the sides of the planks retaining their original organic profile, a feature made of the holes and knots, whilst the top is polished smooth to show off the grain. Some old wear to the tops, otherwise excellent original condition, solid and sturdy with a clear maker’s mark on the underside of each piece. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Dimensions: Table – width 42″, depth 21″, height 28″. Benches – width 42″/48″, depth 11″/12″, height 18″.

Reynolds was established in the early 1950′s as a small father and son producer of hand crafted furniture inspired by the ethos of the Arts and Crafts movement. Unfortunately there premises were destroyed by fire in the late 1970′s and the company folded soon after.
