Suffolk Farming Livestock Inventory dated 1795
A Handwritten Inventory for the Sale of Animal Livestock belonging to Challoner Arcedeckne, held at Auction at the White Heart Inn, Wickham Market, Suffolk on the 26th October 1795, in the reign of William and Mary.
Challoner Arcedeckne (1743-1809) was an MP, High Sheriff of Suffolk, Farmer and Jamaican Sugar Plantation Landowner. He resided at Cockfield Hall, Suffolk and Glevering Hall, Suffolk, which he had built in 1794.
His father was Andrew Arcedeckne of County Galway, an Irish Landowner. He wasa very successful Lawyer and later became The Attorney General of Jamaica. He established Jamaica's Golden Grove Sugar Plantation in 1734.
Challoner inherited these large Plantations/Estates from him in 1763 and on the proceeds built the family seat of Glevering Hall.
