Stunning Chinoiserie Decorated Bureau Bookcase

This is a handsome black and gilt Chinoiserie decorated bureau bookcase dating to the second half of the 20th century and beautifully painted all-over with figures in landscapes, peonies and birds in branches all highlighted in gilt.
It has a double domed pediment with three finials above two arched doors which open to reveal a striking red and gilt fitted interior. The inside of the doors are also decorated with more flowering branches and birds and have a catch to the left door and lock to the right (there is a key). The fittings comprise numerous pigeon holes in a variety of sizes, a central cupboard, various drawers and two secret sliding pockets concealed as pilasters. There are two candle slides below and the drop flap of the bureau reveals a similar red and gilt interior with pigeon holes and drawers. All the drawers are fitted with small brass knob handles whilst the main left door has a brass catch at the bottom and the right has a lock and comes with a key.
Beneath the flap are the two lopers, two short drawers and three graduated long drawers, each with brass handles. The whole piece stands on short shaped and decorated cabriole legs.
CONDITION
This is in excellent condition and is a really stunning piece of antique furniture. There may be a few scuffs to the legs and there is a small piece of moulding chipped off on the right side at the base of the bookcase top (please request gallery link and see photo 26).
