Stephens' Ink Security Labels 1850/60's. In 1832 Dr. Henry Stephens invented the famous blue/black Writing Fruid. His son Henry Charles Stephens took over the firm and continued to develope the family business. These labels are printed in imitiation of the original Comgreve Compound plates, by a Company called 'White of London'. All of the labels are complete with white edged borders.
