Specimen of Joseph Lockett Sons & Co., Ltd., Steel Plate Engraving advertising their areas of Printing/Engraving skills. (e.i. Banker Notes, Cheques, Bills, Plain & Fancy Labels, Invoices, Cards etc.,). Joseph Lock Sons & Co., Ltd., ceased trading in July 1827 but re-emerged as Joseph Lockett Sons & Leake. So presumably this engraving was prior to 1827.
Joseph Locklett Sons & Co., were famous as Engravers and for manufacturing Copper Roller Machines.
They where also famed for their beautiful fabric
prints/designs during the first half of the 19th century.

The specimen is printed onto thin paper, but unfortunately has been cellotaped to the backing board with double sided tape which has seeped though the fine paper, hence the brown strips...
