Small Waltham Seaside half hunter pocket watch.
Small Waltham Seaside half hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, Seaside grade, which is working well. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 13784100 dates it back to 1904. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some light surface scratches from use.
The watch measures 42mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop, so smaller than a standard 50mm pocket watch. The case is 10ct gold filled and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition for a 1900s piece.
There is a small central lens which is surrounded by blue enamel filled Roman numerals.
The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside the watch glass is in good condition.
The signed dial has a couple of very faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable to the naked eye. Blued steel hands including the special half hunter hour hand so the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
