A very pretty, small, mid 19th cent. treadle spinning wheel, probably originally made for a child or for exhibition purposes. It is made in fruitwood with an absolutely lovely original colour throughout, the turnings are of very high quality. The wheel is made in brass. The treadle works perfectly and the condition is excellent apart from the spigot missing its teeth. This wheel is continental in origin and may well have been made in Switzerland. Sizes: 19”(48cms) wide, 13”(33cms) deep, 31”(78cms) high including the tall spindle. Date circa 1850. I have been in the antiques business since 1962, starting in the family business in Staffordshire.
In the early 1970’s I moved to Hertfordshire where I opened my own business and created a limited company.
Today, my business is carried out via the internet. Any successful antiques business, and particularly mine, remains a way of life and a hobby, it continues to give me enormous enjoyment and satisfaction.

I source my stock through many contacts built up over the years. This continues to consist of carefully chosen high quality 17th 18th and 19th century of furniture, particularly specialising in articles with their own fine original colour and also many interesting smaller items of the same periods.
