Charming little Louis XV style French bombé writing desk c.1960. Useful small size, just 24" wide. Open the fall to reveal a fitted interior of six small drawers arranged as steps around a central recess and with a little shelf above. With three more drawers below the desk. Of shapely bombé form without a single straight line or flat face on the exterior. Veneered in highly figured burr elm with inlaid stringing and tulipwood crossbanding continued on the legs and the interior. Shaped apron to all sides. Pierced brass mounts to the tops of the front legs and the front feet. Oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition. Key supplied.
