We are offering this lovely Silver mounted, wooden black leather covered Jewellery Box, with its original green satin quilted and pleated lining and original key. The silver mounts bear the depiction of the famous painting of Angel's Heads by Sir Joshua Reynolds, the complete picture on the central mount and two of the angels in the corners.
The silver mounts are hallmarked for Birmingham 1901 and bears the makers mark of C & C, the anchor for Birmingham assay office, the Lion rampant for the 925 quality silver and the date letter b for 1901.
C & C stands for the company of Albert Cohen and Charles Solomon who were established in 1890 at 11 Thavies Inn, Holborn, London.
