Made in Switzerland - 1900
An antique silver 0.925 Zenith alarm open-faced pocket watch made in Switzerland in 1900. The pocket watch is signed ZENITH on the dial, case and movement. The pocket watch comes in a nice brown leather fitted pouch.
Dial: The white enamel dial has Arabic numerals, blued hands, a subsidiary second’s dial at the six and an alarm dial at the twelve. The time is set by pushing the left-hand button and turning the winder and the alarm by pressing the right-hand button and again turning the winder. The watch is clearly signed “ZENITH, Favre-Leuba & Co, Swiss Made” on the dial, case and movement.
Movement: The high-grade Swiss-made gilt frosted anchor movement is clean and has 17 Rubis, Breguet spiral, high swan regulator, and compensated balance. The movement is signed “Zenith, Swiss Made”. This alarm pocket watch is in very good working condition. However, we cannot guarantee perfect accuracy for an antique pocket watch.
Case: The watch lies in an open-face case with a nice engine-turned finish and a monogram-free cartouche. The inner side of the case and cuvette are stamped for silver 0.925 and numbered 85910. The inner side of the case is signed “Zenith Watch Co Swiss”. The back of the case can be opened so the watch can stand straight and be used as an alarm antique clock.
