Silver pair cases, verge - London, 1772 antique pocket watch verge %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
MOVEMENT Fully signed and numbered (464). Gilded verge movement with engraved and pierced balance cock. Good original condition and running well.

DIAL White enamel. The dial is signed with the name ROBERT HICKSON who was almost certainly the original owner. Excellent condition with just some surface scratches. Nice 18th century steel beetle and poker hands, though the minute hand has lost the tip (a bit short).

INNER CASE London hallmarks for 1772 and maker's mark HPC. Excellent condition. The high dome bull's eye crystal is perfect. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE Matching hallmarks to the inner. The silver is in very good condition but the catch and catch button (brass) have been replaced. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

Matthew French is listed in London in 1782.
