Silver pair cases, repousse - Markham, London 1778

MOVEMENT Signed and numbered (3978) gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, engraved double foot balance bridge and plate, and silver regulator disc. Complete and original condition. Running, though a little fast (gaining about 3 minutes per hour).
DIAL White enamel dial, in reasonable condition, with no repairs but two hairlines running across the bottom left, and surface scratches. Fancy gilt hands.
This dial is a replacement, probably from about 1800.
INNER CASE Silver, hallmarked for London, 1778, maker TG. Good condition throughout, though the pendant has been reattached. The high dome crystal is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.
OUTER CASE Silver repousse. Nice condition with just slight wear to high points of the repousse work, resulting in a couple of pin holes. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. There is an old repair to the rim of the bezel at the catch.
Free worldwide postage.
Payments by cheque, bank transfer, credit & debit cards and Paypal accepted.
