Seymour Easton 1859-1916 Tabard Inn Bookcase
We are delighted to offer for sale this super rare, highly collectable, Antique Victorian, Seymour Easton 1859-1916 Tabard Inn Revolving bookcase stand

This is pretty much the finest and most collectable revolving bookcase in the world, its also the largest I have ever seen. Hand carved in solid oak, you have two sides just for books, then two sides with inspirational quotes, they read as follows
SIDE 1
"Be True University" is carved at the top with open shelves below
SIDE 2
"Books Carlyle" carved at the top with six shields under and on the left side "Biography" "Poetry" "History" on the right side "Sociology" "Art" "Mechanics"
SIDE 3
"Is n Collection of" carved at the top with open shelves below
SIDE 4
"Of These Days" carved at the top followed by six carved shields, then a plaque reading "With all the red tape on the box" in the middle and on the left "Fiction" "Politics" "Commerce" and lastly on the right "Travel" "Science" "Religion"
Seymour Easton 1859-1916 made these bookcases around 1900, Easton started the Tabard Inn Library, it was a membership Library with stations in the form of these revolving bookcases located in drugs stores and other commercial establishments throughout the united states
We have cleaned waxed and polished it, the revolving action works perfectly, they frame is strong and stable, there will be good honest patination from the last 120+ years of use

We have long term storage which is very economically priced, we are happy to hold stock for as long as needed providing it is arranged prior to the purchase.
If sold items aren’t collected within three months and no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit the item and payment.

COURIER (LARGE ITEMS ONLY THAT CAN’T BE POSTED)
We prefer collection on all items from Wimbledon SW19-3BE, If you have your own courier or wish to book the collection in yourself we are happy to accommodate you.
We can arrange delivery nationwide, please confirm the delivery amount before you buy and not after.
Whoever delivers will usually require some help on the larger items to unload, if this is not possible please let us know as it will affect the price to send a two man team.
Delivery is to the ground floor only, again if you need help upstairs or in flats etc that's absolutely not a problem, the couriers charge £10 per flight per man per item, if you have a working elevator then naturally there’s no additional fee.
I’m happy to accommodate your own courier after a cleared payment has been received, they need to book in a collection time with at least 24 hours notice, all collections must be made within 7 working days of the close of the auction unless agreed by prior arrangement.
