Scottish Union Insurance Company - Fire Policy dated 1871. Mrs Gershomah Hannah Gifford of Palgan Park, County Mayo, Ireland, paid to insure a Shop and Dwelling situated in Roxburgh Street, Kelso, Scotland, occupied by James Crozier and others, for Hazardous Goods - for One Hundred & Thirty Pounds. Paying a permium of 3 shillings and 3 pence. Delightful Lithographed Illustrated Heading, plus Lithographed Heading on reverse which is unusual. Printed Letterpress and Hand Written. Has a Watermark on the bottom of the page from right to left and has an Embossed Duty Stamp for One Penny.
