Rare George III Bilston Enamel Patch Box c1770
Rare South Staffordshire Bilston Enamel oval patch box lid decorated with motto "Have Communion with few Be familiar with one. Deal justly with all Speak evil of none".
Patch box has a white body with blue, white and gilt roundels, and mirror interior lid.
Overall in very good condition, with just a tiny loss of enamel on base and also on the mirror with foxing. Blue gilt roundels are in good order and the motto is still nice and clear. Good strong hinge, and snaps shut just as it should For a box of this age and delicacy it is a superb piece.
