In the year in which Queen Elizabeth II became the longest serving monarch of the United Kingdom, we are pleased to be able to offer this rare and superb quality oak and red leather upholstered throne chair, embossed in gilt lettering with the phrase ‘Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee 1977’. Inspired by the Coronation chair in Westminster Abbey, this chair was made by Wood Bros. Ltd. of Hertfordshire as one of a limited edition of 500. This example has its certificate of authenticity, attesting to it being #38 of that batch. It retailed for £294 in 1977, approximately the equivalent of £2,000 in today’s prices.
