Quality Burr Walnut Bachelors Chest Of Drawers
This is lovely. The bachelors chest is top quality. I imagine it was made in the last fifty or sixty years. It was made to a Georgian design and I love period Georgian antique furniture but this is as good quality as the original if not better. The chest is a small neat size. It is made in burr walnut and crossbanded in walnut with feather banding between. The drawers are made in the traditional way with dovetails and they retain their very ornate original brass handles and back plates. The drawer fronts are again panelled in burr walnut and crossbanded and inlaid.
The chest stands on pretty bracket feet. The top folds over to give you a very usable surface and this is secured on inset brass hinges.
The chest is a gem. It is designed as a pretty chest for a bedroom but is such quality you could put it in hall or a principal room. It will happily sit in an antique or contemporary setting.
Condition good.
The chest is 29 inches high and 20 inches wide and 17 inches deep.
