PoW Straw Work Netting Case French Prisoner of War straw %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Good straw work netting case, probably French Prisoner of War work, complete with a selection of netting tools. Netting was an early 19th century form of lace making, created in the way fishing nets are made. The case is beautifully detailed and, considering the age and fragile material used, in very good condition. There is a small amount of damage shown clearly in the photos. The case measures 8 1/2" long. I prefer payment by bank transfer, details on request.
I regret that due to current regulations I am unable to ship ivory items to the United States, even though all items are CITES compliant.
