Poem - Cheer Up
Don't go crying and a sighing,
When you hit a bit of trouble,
Don't believe your trouble Haunted,
Other Fellows may have double,
Smile at trouble keep on smiling,
Till Mister trouble's fled,
Make your life a living pleasure,
For you'll be a long time dead.
By R.F.M
M & L Ltd. 418.
National Series.
Stamp is King George V 1d Stamp 1912-1924.
Postcards became 1d to post in 1918.
Looks like an 18 on the postmark. So I would estimate the card is 1918 or a little later.. .
The postcard is supplied in a plastic sleeve with a blank greetings card with a photowindow + envelope so you can send it as your own unique greetings card, be it for a birthday, valentines or any special occasion or celebration.
Sending a little piece of history chosen by you. This is not a reproduction, it is a genuine antique original around 100 years old !
They are also a lovely bit of social history, if it isn't blank you often get to see what people were writing to each other over a century ago.
Please be aware, as these may have been through the postal system once already and are often over 100 years old, some fading and wear comensurate with age is inevitable.
If you are looking for a pristine, new, mint, squeeky condition, these are probably not for you, although some are in very good condition.
If you are looking for character and a unique gift you have come to the right place.
This is truly in the spirit of recycling as the receiver can remove the card put it out on display, in an albumn or even put it in a photo window greetings card themselves and post it out to someone else !
The great thing about these cards is that the early 20th century was the heyday for postcards and there are literally hundreds of great designs, both romantic, humourous and downright weird specially selected for you by The Card Museum. There will always be something to suit everyone.
Prices include 2nd class signed for postage and packing within mainland UK. For overseas please contact us for a quote. PricePrice to be added. Category Antique Ephemera Date 1918 1910s Antiques Item code as1003a015 Status Sold
