Persian Design Brass Trinket Pot, Kinco, c.1925-39
This superb Persian design brass trinket pot was made between the wars by Kinco. Kinco started making art metalware in 1924 from their base in Eden Street in Kingston-upon-Thames, from where the company took its name. Around 1930 they moved to larger premises across the river in Twickenham and carried on until the outbreak of war in 1939.
The ornate Persian inspired design was machine made and the background colour, in this case a mixture of black, red and blue, was carefully added by hand. Both Queen Mary and the future Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother were enthusiastic purchasers of Kinco products.
The trinket pot is in good overall condition with no dings or dents and only minimal wear. The finial is just slightly loose but perfectly secure. The pot is 11.3cm in diameter at its widest point and stands 9.5cm high to the top of the finial.
This is a stylish and unusual period piece which can be accurately dated to the period 1925 to 1939 as this was the only time during which Kinco were producing these items.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
