Good sized mid 20th.c solid oak coffee table c.1970. Maker unknown but very much in the manner of 20th.c Arts and Crafts makers such as Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. With a wonderfully tactile adze cut table top over moulded rails and square legs with chamfered corners joined with low stretchers. Interestingly one of the long stretchers is carved with the Latin proverb ‘Audentes Fortuna Juvat’ or Fortune favours the brave – motto of the Yorkshire Regiment. Very good condition and attractive pale colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
