Here is a good quality pair of small George III style reproduction mahogany “pie crust” top tripod wine tables, circa late 20th century, in good original condition. This style of tripod antique tables were the most elegant designs of tripod tables during the George III period. The tops are constructed from a single piece of solid mahogany (sign of quality), with a fine “pie crust” edging to the perimeter. The tops are fixed to the pedestal stem. The tables boast a well shaped and very good quality turned & fluted pedestal stem. The tables terminate on lovely cabriole shaped legs. The tables are completely original (i.e. the top and the base are not a marriage) without any breaks or damage. They would make an ideal pair of lamp or wine antique tables. It is rare to see a set of good quality tripod tables, even reproduction versions.
The tables feature a rich red mahogany colour. They have a good colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received. These truly are a very beautiful pair of tables with quality construction and are original throughout. It is rare to see ones in such good condition.
The tables would look superb in a variety of rooms including the dining room, living room or the hallway. They would be ideal as a pair of lamp tables. The tables would certainly grace any home or office and are a great investment, as they are extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
