Very attractive pair of mid 20th.c. French Louis XV style open armchairs c.1950. Shapely carved walnut frames with original green painted and gilded finish. Backrests, arms and broad sprung seats with fine embroidered silk upholstery. Lovely carved and gilded scallop detail to the apron below the seat and raised on cabriole legs with scrolling feet front and rear. Very good unrestored condition, solid and sturdy with only minor damage to the gilding typical of age. Upholstery is perfectly serviceable but with some minor marks and wear.
