PAIR Kofod Larsen Housemaster GPlan Lounge Chairs
A pair of striking and sought-after 'Housemaster' easy chairs or lounge chairs.
Designed by the highly regarded Kofod Larsen (1921 - 2003) for G-Plan in the late 1960's - early 1970's.
A super design combining the materials of the day, namely bent teak ply sections with chrome.
These super-stylish chairs were originally designed with complete comfort for the sitter in mind, and encourage a laid back but supportive position - wonderful chairs in which to sit back with a drink or favourite book.
The seats revolve freely on the sprung bases, with each base terminating on 5 castors which makes for great ease of movement around the room.
The cushions are missing to one chair, as shown. The cushions present on the other are the original ones but are very tired. However, the foam innards are still good enough to use as a pattern from which to get new foam cut to the correct size. The chairs are comfortable to sit in without cushions and indeed some prefer to use them in this way.
A 'barn find' and sold for complete restoration / refurbishment.
