This beautiful and rare oversized hand carved ironwood and rattan Dayak chieftains bowl features 2 large mythical figures that are curved and shaped on each end as handles. This well-proportioned and detailed piece has a rattan patterned border around the rim and is supported on the solid base of the handles. It measures 26 in – 66 cm long and 17 in – 43.2 cm wide and 9 ½ in – 24.2 cm in height. This primitive sculpture would make an outstanding and special focal point in any room, in a wide range of styles both minimal and contemporary.
