This is a decorative hand-coloured copper engraved map of Denmark by Emanuel Bowen (1694 - 1767) from 'A Complete System of Geography' published in London in 1747. It covers all of Jutland, the islands of Zealand, Funen and Lolland, and parts of Germany and Sweden. It has one decorative cartouche with two horses in a field, a compass rose and a mileage scale. The full title reads: "A New and Accurate Map of Denmark Drawn from the best Authorities & most approved Maps: The Whole being regulated by Astrom. Observations."

Condition: This is a good clean example with a uniform patina. Some masking tape is present in the margins which would be hidden beneath a mount if framed.
