Ophiolatreia First Edition

The Ophiolatreia First Edition is a rare and collectible book written by an anonymous author, focusing on adult and erotic fiction. Published privately in the United Kingdom, this edition holds historical significance and is sought after by collectors of antiquarian literature. With its unique content and limited availability, this book offers readers an uncommon glimpse into the darker realms of 19th-century literature.
This rare first edition is not in especially great condition. It is dirty and watermarked: poorly stored in a damp place I guess. The pages are hand cut, and there is at least one and possibly more pencil marks correcting spelling etc.
The corners are bent in and the spine cover is beginning to leave home.
So condition is an issue
However this is an enormously rare book and so worth adding to any collection for a collector, shop or anyone interest in the study of snake worship and its close relations to phallic representations etc. This copy represents excellent value
Although it was published anonymously it is widely accepted that it was written by Hargrave Jennings (1817-1890) who wrote extensively on Phallism.
