Onoto K4 Fountain Pen 14ct Nib c1957

We have for sale a stylish De La Rue Onoto K4 series fountain pen dating from around 1957.
By 1955 De La Rue the famed Strathendry based Onoto pen manufacturer was in trouble. The Biro was impacting trade and Onoto needed to produce a new range of fountain pens to compete, thus the k series pens were born.
This particular pen is a gloss black K4 example with an excellent piston up-filler system, a 14ct gold hooded nib, a transparent ink window to the barrel and a screw on cap fitted with a gold plated single band, and a gold plated Onoto marked clip held in place by a screw-in tassie. The pen is fitted with the original 14kt hooded Onoto nib. The nib has no visible flaws and writes smoothly.
The pen is 5.2 inches (13.2cm) long and is in a very good to excellent condition, although there is some light surface wear to the barrel and cap as one would expect from a 60 year old pen.
