Oak Inlaid Welsh Table Box
Part of a rich Welsh tradition of inlaying antique furniture, this small table box was made early in the 18th century in one of the southern coastal counties, probably Glamorganshire. Constructed from single planks of dense oak, simply nailed together, the front has an undulating line shaped to accomodate the large iron lockplate and, at each end, two stylized tulip heads, all within a line-inlaid rectangle.
All the ironwork appears to be original, there is a pair of old but later swan neck carrying handles.
The colour and patina are rich and deep.

In the rare case that you wish to return an item, we need notification within 48 hours of delivery. We will then refund the cost of the item back to you in full, less transport costs involved. The item must then be delivered back to our showroom within 14 days in the exact same condition as it left us.
STORAGE
Should an item not be ready for immediate delivery, we are able to hold stock at our shop in Cowbridge. Items may be subject to a storage fee where applicable.
