Oak Fully Adjustable Artist’s Studio Easel
A substantial and well-crafted antique artist’s studio easel in solid oak, of upright form with a rich, warm patina accentuating the natural grain. The easel is raised on a sturdy H-frame base fitted with original castors, allowing for ease of movement within a studio environment.
Designed for versatility, the easel is fully adjustable, both in height and angle. A hand-cranked mechanism with a turned wooden handle operates an internal rack-and-pinion system, enabling smooth and precise vertical adjustment of the canvas support. In addition, the upper structure can be tilted, allowing the artist to position the canvas at a range of angles from upright to a more reclined working position.
The central support features a sliding carriage with an adjustable lower ledge and a shaped upper clamp, securely holding canvases of varying sizes. The rear reveals the original geared column and threaded elements, underscoring the quality of its construction. A small integrated drawer beneath the main support provides convenient storage for brushes and tools.
