An oak bible box of excellent size. This was presented in 1946 as shown on the picture, but the timber is very much in the 1920/30s mould, so it may date to this period. It has been waxed and has a lovely colour and the carved detailing is extremely precise and crisp. The second ‘E’ letter is partly missing from the word 'presented'. Can be used as a bible box, writing slope or general decorative storage. Offered in original condition and with a few splits in the construction, overall a fabulous quality little item.
