A Superb Oak & Brass Campaign Chest, with silk lined and padded interior, rare inset handles and the number 22, altered from 20,- the number 20 denoting the East Devonshire 20th Regiment of Foot, altered to 22, denoting the Cheshire Regiment. This would have been an Officer's Chest for transporting his important military regalia on campaign, and still retains the original lock & key. Circa 1860.
