Oak 4ft Victorian Roll-Top Pedestal Desk (c.1880)
This is a superb quality 4ft Victorian solid oak 4ft roll top pedestal desk, circa 1880 - 1901.

This is a superb quality fielded panel golden oak 4ft roll top desk circa 1880 – 1901 constructed with the best quality oak. It has recently been restored and boasts four graduated drawers in each pedestal. The right hand pedestal features a filing drawer in the bottom drawer of the pedestal. The desk boasts solid golden oak fielded panels throughout and features the original oak cup handles. There are lovely supporting corbels to the undersides of the desk. There is an oak modesty board, with two pull-out writing slides above 4 drawers in each pedestal. The interior has 4 internal drawers (of which two are secret), 31 internal compartments with 2 pen trays and the original finger knobs. The desk features a locking mechanism when the roll-top is closed. The lock and key are in working order. The internal drawers are constructed of sycamore. The oak has an excellent tight grain with a wax finish. The desk dismantles into three sections for easy storage or transportation.
The sides of the desk are “S” shaped and have moulded panels allowing the desk to sit freestanding in the centre of a room. The desk is complete with a working lock and key which operates a secret locking mechanism for the fall and the pedestal drawers. It is rare to see a roll top desk displaying such quality in a great condition.

The desk is in very good condition it has recently been re-polished and is in complete working order. There is no damage or cracks to the tambour (which is common in roll-tops). There are no drawers or compartments missing. Some nominal old use marks. The internal pedestal drawers are constructed of sycamore. Free of worm-worm, solid in joint and ready to use. It features a working lock and key.

A 7 day “no quibble” return policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. You will be given a refund excluding the delivery cost as long as the item is returned in the same condition. The buyer is not required to cover the cost of returning the item if the item is returned at the point of delivery. If the item is delivered and left with the customer, a return fee will apply (which is the same cost as the delivery fee). We collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We do not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit). This refund policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.
