Mid Century Magic Desk Box Fold-Out Craft Station
A Superb Folding Crafts or Arts Work Station / Storage Unit.
Ingenious, good-looking and highly practical....this is the most brilliant solution for the crafter or anyone who needs a work station / desk and where space is at a premium.
Often referred to as the 'Magic Box', this is a mid century modern example dating to around the 1970's and is Scandinavian in its design. It appears unbranded but is very much in the footprint of the famous firm, Mummenthaler and Meier.
Construction is from solid timber and good quality teak veneer.
The two doors open to reveal masses of storage space for papers, card, pots, paints, rolls of paper and any other materials you need to stow away. The work surface pulls out, with a flap on each side which fold out to provide a generous area upon which to work. Below this table top, there is a drawer which slides out and below this a further slide which again pulls out.
There is also a fully integral lamp, as shown, which throws light onto the work surface.
The main doors can be folded right open, as shown, or brought in slightly, which then provides an intimate and focussed area in which to work / study and encourages productivity.
This is THE perfect solution for a small house or flat where space is at a premium and where one room has to do many things. This folding unit enables you to work and put away things quickly and efficiently, without any residual clutter....all whilst keeping your main table free from work things.
UK delivery at cost. Call or email for a quote to your location.
Dimensions -
When fully folded up and not in use:
82 cms wide x 54 cms deep x 115 cms high.
When fully opened to the maximum -
164 cms wide with the doors fully open and flat against the wall, although the piece could be used with the doors turned in slightly, which reduces the working width slightly.
Condition -
In used but well cared for condition. Externally, cosmetically, the unit is truly excellent with only a few very minor surface marks. Internally, the main work area with some minor surface scuffs and marks from careful use over the years. One small darker spot (likely a burn or ink mark, but I'm sure this could be rectified and it doesn't run too deep into the surface). The piece is structurally sound and solid.
Email or call for any further information on this item. We give great attention to each and every item we select and offer for sale, priding ourselves on the accuracy of our descriptions and research.
