Mid-century Morris of Glasgow Chest of Drawers Morris of Glasgow Chest of Drawers Mid Century %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A good looking mid-century chest of three drawers sitting on slightly splayed legs designed by Neil Morris and made by Morris of Glasgow. This style of chest works tremendously well in modern or period homes.

With its strong striped grain of walnut, this one possesses a strong hint of quality and is of good craftsmanship coming from the Cumbrae Furniture range. The Cumbrae range was made for the top end of the market, winning awards at the 1950 Ideal Home Exhibition. Makers stamp in every drawer.

This chest of drawers sits in great vintage order with no repairs, wobbles or sways, just day to day historic use with a small piece of damage to the veneer on the top right hand side, not fresh. The drawers are all closing as they should and it smells fine and clean. We have carefully repolished the piece – preferring this to Danish oil which can look over shiny and sticky to touch due to the density of the walnut.

A fine looking and useful piece of mid-century antique furniture by Morris of Glasgow.
