King Edward VI Vellum Quittance Register of Account of Relief (taxes).Dated 1550.
Michaell Halle,(Michael Hall) Collector. Grants as contained in one part of an Indenture for William Vavasour, Knight and Other, pays by account the sum off £54.18s.4d, for the quarters relief on the 4th Day of May in the sixth year of the same relief. Acquired by Christoper Smyth (Smith) in the Skyrake Wapentake District of Headingly, West Riding, Yorkshire.

Skyrake, drives its name from the Old English phase 'Scir-ac' meaning Shire-Oak and Wapentake is a Norse word used in the Danelaw Counties of Great Britain from 1086, meaning District. The Taxes were collected on the Quarter Days and presumably under the Shire Oak.
