Lovely Papier Mache 2 Part Tea Caddy,Gilt Mounts. Tea Caddy Papier Mache Simulated Burr Wood
A very unusual late 19th cent Papier Mache Two Part Tea Caddy beautifully painted to simulate Burr Wood,the lid is shaped all round and has central Pierced Gilt Metal and Gilt mounts on each corner, also has Gilt Keyhole Escutcheon,no key. The lid opens to reveal two lids each with small Brass Knobs which cover the original lead lined interior.The dimensions are:- 17cms Wide (max) x 12cms deep(max) x 12 cms high. c. 1890-1900 I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
