Very attractive mid 20th.c. French Louis XV style open arm couch or settee c.1950. Shapely carved walnut frame with original green painted and gilded finish. Backrests, arms and sprung seat with fine embroidered silk upholstery. Lovely carved and gilded scallop detail to the apron below the seat and raised on cabriole legs with scrolling feet front and rear. Very good unrestored condition, solid and sturdy with only minor damage to the gilding typical of age. Upholstery is perfectly serviceable but with some marks and minor wear.
