L&NWR Minton's Cream/Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl

1 of 6
L&NWR
London & North Western Railway
Refreshment Room Dept.
Minton's Milk/Cream Jug and Sugar Bowl.
Approximate dimensions: bowl: diameter 6.1cm, height 3.4cm: Jug 4.8 cm tall: total weight 78.7 grams.
The London and North Western Railway (LNWR, L&NWR) was a British railway company between 1846 and 1922. In the late 19th century, the LNWR was the largest joint stock company in the world. In 1923, it became a constituent of the London, Midland and Scottish (LMS) railway, and, in 1948, the London Midland Region of British Railways. The LNWR's main line remains today as the English and Welsh portions of the West Coast Main Line.
Both pieces look as if they have had a layer of colour added. It has come away on quite a lot on the bowl but not on the little jug. The colour covers the Minton mark on the base of the little jug. Please see photos.
Otherwise in very good condition.
These items would date from the early 20th Century just before the grouping as this Minton backstamp started being used circa 1912.
