L&NWR Dining Saloons Tea Pot

1 of 6
L&NWR
London & North Western Railway
Dining Saloons Tea Pot
Copeland, Stoke on Trent.
The lid is a correct matching one but is very slightly smaller than the original.
This very old tea pot has a lot of crazing.
The handle has been re-attached and the spout has been repaired, both some time ago.
Please see photos.
Judging from the Copeland backstamp, this pot is probably dating from the 1870s/80s as Spode was added to their marks from circa 1890 and Sons was added even earlier circa 1867.
The London and North Western Railway (LNWR, L&NWR) was a British railway company between 1846 and 1922. In the late 19th century, the LNWR was the largest joint stock company in the world. In 1923, it became a constituent of the London, Midland and Scottish (LMS) railway, and, in 1948, the London Midland Region of British Railways. The LNWR's main line remains today as the English and Welsh portions of the West Coast Main Line.
Approximate dimensions: 21cm x 13cm and 14cm tall, weight 665.5 grams.
This pot does show its age but it is still an impressive piece from the Victorian era.
